Nitika Pant Pai

Nikki is a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Divisions of Clinical Epidemiology and Infectious Disease, and a Research Scientist at the MUHC RI, Montreal, Canada.  

She is a physician researcher, a leading global expert in point-of-care diagnostics for STI/HIV and in digital health innovations for diagnostics to improve service delivery. Her Global research program for HIV/STI with point-of-care diagnostics and connected digital solutions, is aimed at all equity-seeking populations worldwide. She brings her practice & research experience across four health care settings to her research: US, India, Canada, South Africa, funded by CIHR, FRSQ, NIH, Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, and IC-IMPACTs, among others. She has published >120 papers in the the Lancet,  Lancet Microbe, Lancet HIV, JAMA Internal Medicine, PLoS Medicine, Annals, BMJ STI and contributed to 27 global technical reports. She holds 9 patents/copyrights for her digital innovations and is a recipient of awards for excellence in research and innovation. She has served on many high level technical working groups and the Governments of Canada, the US, India, France, among others.  

A member of the Royal Society of Canada(2018), Canadian women leader in Global Health (2018, 2020), and a Women Lift Health recognized Global Health Leader.
