March Update on POC 2025 Conference

POC 2025 Conference to continue amidst challenging global circumstances
The global health community is facing enormous challenges. In the wake of policy changes in the United States –
particularly around funding via USAID – many projects have been paused or stopped altogether.

The 2nd Asia Pacific Conference on Point of Care Testing for Infectious Diseases has not been exempt. Many of our organising committee members and keynote speakers have been directly impacted, and we’ve heard from the community that many who would have attended the conference are unable to amidst this global turmoil. However, the Point of Care Conference team and the committee are dedicated to pushing forward with the conference. Now more than ever it’s vital that the global health community has opportunities to come together, to share our progress and challenges, and design solutions together.

To ensure as many people as possible are able to join us in Thailand, we have decided to extend
early bird registrations to enable more people to access discounted prices.

If you have any ideas on how else we can support the community, please reach out to conference@ashm.org.au

We are excited to continue the journey, and we look forward to seeing you there.

The Rapid Point of Care Research Consortium for Infectious Diseases (RAPID) and ASHM Health are collaborating to present the 2nd Asia Pacific Conference on Point of Care Testing for Infectious Diseases (POC 2025) in Bangkok, in partnership with Drs Rossaphorn Kittiyawamarn & Nittaya Phanuphak as the local POC 2025 convenors.

This partnership builds on the success of their previous endeavours to enhance access to rapid diagnostic tools, particularly for infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, cervical cancer, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis, malaria, antimicrobial resistance, and other key infections. The conference will bring together leading experts, including from community, healthcare professionals, and researchers from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The conference aims to showcase innovations in point-of-care testing, discuss strategies for implementation, and address challenges related to equitable access and healthcare integration. This collaboration fosters a comprehensive approach to tackling infectious diseases, improving diagnostic capabilities, and enhancing patient care in diverse settings across the region.

Welcome to Point-of-Care Conference 2025

Join us in exploring how the point-of-care technology can be so crucial in enhancing global health equity in infectious diseases. Come and learn how you can optimize the point-of-care technology use in your context and through your roles as a health professional, community health worker, researcher, policy maker, or client.  Eliminating infectious diseases can be achieved when we put people first, innovate, collaborate, and be evidence-based.

The event provides valuable networking opportunities among its participants and a forum to deliberate on topics surrounding the different key stakeholders.

Save the date and move on to the next chapter in infectious disease diagnostics.

Bangkok is ready to inspire and energize you!
